Recruitment Vacancies at Edo State College of Agriculture on 2016 – 4 position

Edo State College of Agriculture, Iguoriakhi, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the vacant position stated below:

POITION : Bursar

Requirements

  • Candidates for the position of Bursar are required to have a good honours degree in Accountancy or Finance from a recognized institution of higher learning or equivalent professional Accountancy qualification with at least Eighteen (18) years post-qualification cognate experience, plus registration with a recognized professional accounting body.
  • The possession of ACCA, ACA, CNA, or ACMA is an added advantage.
  • The appointee must be under Fifty-Five (55) years on appointment.

Terms or Appointment

  • The Bursar of the College shall hold office for a period of Five (5) years. This may however, on the recommendation of the Governing Council, based on satisfactory performance, be extended by one (1) year and no more.
  • The salary grading of the position is CONTEDISS 15 and the appointee shall be entitled to an official car and other benefits of the office as may be decided and/or approved from time to time by the State Government and/or the Governing Council.

POSITION : College Librarian

Qualifications

  • Candidates for the post of College Librarian must possess a Masters degree in Library Science/Studies (M.L.S) with Fifteen (15) years cognate experience or a Bachelor of Library Science/Studies (B.L.S), with Eighteen (18) years cognate experience or a good honours degree plus professional Library qualification with Seventeen (17) years post qualification experience.
  • A Ph.D in Library Science and Information will be an added advantage.
  • In addition, the candidate must show evidence of membership of relevant professional body/bodies.
  • The appointee must be under Fifty-Five (55) years on appointment.

Terms of Appointment

  • The College Librarian shall hold office for a period of Five (5) years.
  • This may, however, on the recommendation of the Governing Council, based on satisfactory performance, be extended by two (2) years and another period of two (2) years after the first two (2) years period of extension and no more.
  • The salary scale of the position is CONTEDISS 15 and the appointee shall be entitled to an official car and other benefits of the office as may be decided and/or approved from time to time by the State Government and/or the Governing Council.

POSITION : Registrar

Qualifications

  • Candidates for the post of Registrar are required to possess a good honours degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized University and must have at least Fifteen (15) years cognate experience, part of which must have been in the position of a Deputy Registrar in a University, Polytechnic, or an Institution of similar status.
  • The possession of a Masters degree is an advantage.
  • The appointee must be under Fifty-Five (55) years on appointment.

  • The Registrar of the College shall hold office for a period of Five (5) years. This may however, on the recommendation of the Governing Council, based on satisfactory performance, be extended by one (1) year and no more.
  • The salary grading of the position is CONTEDISS 15 and the appointee shall be entitled to an official car and other benefits of the office as may be decided and/or approved from time to time by the State Government and/or the Governing Council.

POSITION : Provost

Job Description

  • The Provost is the Chief Academic/Chief Executive Officer and Chief Accounting Officer of the College.
  • Candidates for this position must have demonstrable evidence of strong academic and administrative leadership, initiative, and creativity in sound policy formulation, good interpersonal skills and outstanding managerial capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must possess a Masters degree from a recognized institution in any area of Agriculture or in any of the disciplines relevant to the programme of the College. The possession of a higher degree, such as PhD, will be an added advantage.
  • In addition, candidates must have had a minimum of Fifteen (15) years of professional and administrative experience in an institution of higher learning. He must be a Chief Lecturer of not less than Five (5) years experience on that rank in a College of Agriculture, Polytechnic, University or equivalent institution.
  • Candidates must provide evidence of scholarly researches/publications in reputable journals as well as presentation of invited papers at educational conferences, workshops and seminars, attaining a high national and international status in his/her research achievements; Candidates must pn5vide evidence of membership of reputable professional body/bodies in Nigeria.
  • He must not be more than Fifty-Five (55) years as at the time of assumption of office.

Terms of Appointment

  • The appointment is for one (1) single non-renewable term of five (5) years, following which the Provost shall relinquish position and be assigned other duties in the College.
  • The salary grading is consolidated and the appointee shall he entitled to an official car with a driver and other benefits of the office as may he decided and/or approved from time to time by the State Government and/or the Governing Council.
